Yeah. this place was pretty great. Small art fair in milwaukee. Went this year for the afternoon and wondered… 1. why I had never gone before. and 2. why I hadn’t got a hotel room and gone to the dance party afterwards. Next year. oh and 3. why didn’t i buy that Eric May painting to benefit old gold ?
Maybe I still can … the A&W on the way out of town.

Polanoir is a gallery in Vienna devoted totally to polaroids. Read more on their website about how the gallery came into being.
Here are some reasons they love polaroid photography:
- the one and only photographic medium that produces real unique originals.
- the most analog pictures possible – recognisable at first sight because of structure, colors and the unique Polaroid framing.
- pictures that bring back coincidences into photography. An inimitable combination of analog chemistry and instant visible results.
- pictures that can be manipulated in many ways, using unique creative gizmo’s for an amazing number of innovative techniques and projects.
- pictures that are immortal proofs to express the powerful dynamic visualization of Polaroid films.
- Polaroids are an endangered species in this digital world – making them very special indeed.
Currently the gallery has 18 international artists but they claim to be adding new ones. If you are interested in joining POLANOIR, you can contact them at office@polanoir.com.

My favorite game growing up looked like this:

Mastermind was probably not the typical game for a 7 year old to love, seeing as it involves algorithms and mathematical deduction. But it still remains one of my favorites to this day. It was created by Mordecai Meirowitz (Israeli) in 1970. Mr. Meirowitz worked in telecommunications (and was also a postmaster). He designed the game as an educational tool but tried to market it to games manufactors with little luck. Finally in 1972 Ivicta Plastics took on the game and without any advertising, it sold millions. Possibly it had something to do with the highly suggestive cover?
Apparently these mysterious models were asked to reunite for another photo shoot a few years ago. You can see the photo and article here.
Here is a picture of the game in play:
I thought it deserved some attention this morning.
